Shakespeare Week at Conway
Next week at Conway, children in years 1 to 6 will be celebrating “Shakespeare Week” – an entire week dedicated to learning about the life and works of William Shakespeare. The aim is to introduce Shakespeare to KS1 and KS2 children in a fun and engaging way.
During the reading and writing lessons each morning, year groups will focus their learning on a particular play. Children will begin to understand the basic plot, explore Shakespearean language and create their own stories and play scripts inspired by the play they are studying
Year 1 and 2 – A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Year 3 – The Tempest
Year 4 – Macbeth
Year 5 – King Lear
Year 6 – Hamlet
Each child will have their own “Passport to Shakespeare” booklet to take home, which includes information and activities to complete, giving children an opportunity to continue their learning about Shakespeare at home.
